Since they hated knowledge and did not choose to fear the Lord, since they would not accept my advice and spurned my rebuke, they they eat the fruit of their ways and be filed with the fruit of their schemes.

Jeremiah 2:23-24
How can you say, “I am not defiled: I have not run after the Baals”? See how you behaved in the valley; consider what you have done. You are a swift she-camel running here and there, a wild donkey accustomed to the desert, sniffing the wind in her craving- in her heat who can restrain her? Any males that pursue her need not tire themselves; at mating time they will find her.

Isaiah 29:15-16
Woe to those who go to great depths to hide their plans from the Lord, who do their work in darkness and think, “Who sees us? Who will know?” You turn things upside down, as if the potter were though to be like the clay! Shall what is formed say to him who formed it, “He did not make me”? Can the pot say of the potter, “He knows nothing”?
